PALO ALTO, CA, May 14, 2008 — Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, an affiliate of Atrius Health, is pleased to announce that it has selected Health Hero Network, Inc. to provide the award-winning Health Buddy System as a component of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates’ care management programs for its patients with chronic illnesses. Nationally recognized as leaders in developing and delivering high quality, integrated health care services for chronically ill patients, the two organizations will together deploy a care coordination model supported by the latest in telehealth technology to enable the clinicians within the Harvard Vanguard system to more effectively support their patients. This test will consist of 150 patients over a 6-month time period, and is expected to form the basis for substantially broader use across Harvard Vanguard’s patient base.
“A key to managing chronic illness effectively is to involve patients in their care, and to be able to address potential issues before they occur,” indicated Richard Lopez, M.D., Vice President, Clinical Programs at Harvard Vanguard. “We expect that the Health Buddy System will be able to add great value in supporting those efforts.”
“Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates is one of the premier physician groups in the US, in terms of the quality, outcomes and innovation,” said Derek Newell, CEO of Health Hero Network, which is now part of the Bosch Group. “Their service to the community, and history of innovating on behalf of its patients, will ensure that this relationship delivers improved health, improved patient and physician satisfaction – and reduced health care costs.”
